“If you’re on a budget and have mild to moderate adult acne, at-home devices like the [reVive Light Therapy® Clinical – Acne Treatment] could work as good alternatives but may not be as effective as in-office treatments.” — Prevention.com, 20 Best Acne Treatments for a Clear, Blemish-Free Complexion, According to Dermatologists

“I get my hands on reVive Light Therapy® Clinical Acne Treatment. As directed, I hold it over each area of my face for three minutes. The gadget’s super easy to use—it’s light and easy to hold… After using my new gadget daily for two-weeks straight in my nighttime skin-care regimen, I’ve noticed some key things. First of all, my active breakouts rapidly went from inflamed red spots to smaller whiteheads overnight—which sped up their entire lifecycle overall.” —Rachel Lapidos

“More and more patients are looking for natural treatments for acne, and the light machines are a great addition to other treatments,” says Cybele Fishman, M.D., a New York-based dermatologist. “And they’re safe to use everyday.”

I followed the instructions intentionally and saw no changes whatsoever. If anything, maybe more acne. Would not recommend.

    • LED Technologies Customer Service (store manager)

Hi Kelsie, we are sorry to hear that you didn’t experience the results you expected. For the best results, we recommend up to 3x per day, per area. For acne treatments using blue light therapy, you will see results fairly quickly. Sometimes after a single treatment. For severe acne breakouts, the number of treatments needed will increase due to the bacteria levels. Users will start seeing overall skin condition improve as well as diminished breakouts, redness, and irritation of the skin due to acne with continued use. It is recommended that you use the light therapy device regularly to keep acne causing bacteria at bay. Please note that our FDA-clearance is for mild to moderate acne and does not include severe or hormonal acne though customer’s have reported positive results for those conditions. If you have any further questions or would like advice on how to better use your Clinical Acne, our team would love to chat with you! Send us a message at support@ledtechnologies.com

Nice and lightweight model. Easy to hold and maneuver around my face and jawline. I love how my face glows for a few hours after use, looks healthy and flush.
I’m using mostly the red LED function but found the blue treatment effective on random spots that pop up. Looking forward to the next 90 days and seeing improvement!

  3. Andrea

I like it so far. I love the auto sensor and auto shut off. The 3 in 1 light options is great. I have been using it about a month every morning. No obvious changes yet, but I’m hopeful to see some skin improvement in the upcoming months.

I have 3 new pimple this week…started using it maybe 2 weeks ago

  6. Lauren

To early to see results but the light itself doesn’t hold much charge and it seems a bit glitchy, shutting itself off frequently.

  7. Zaida Negron

    So easy to use

I always read reviews before purchasing items. We also did not want to go the accutane route and thought we’d try this. I have to say, I was skeptical, but it has helped my daughter so much! [Clinical Acne]

I’m absolutely obsessed with the Lux Clinical device! This dual function device’s anti-aging & acne treatment device is genius & I love that I can target both my wrinkles & breakouts with the same device! I am really impressed with the noticeable results I get from this at home device for well under $200! If you are a beauty junkie like me you NEED a Lux Clinical device in your beauty arsenal!!

Love this product, it covers a good portion of my face. The shipping was really fast and the customer service is excellent

  14. Whitney (verified owner)

I was recommended this product by my esthetician as a good way to fight acne around my mouth due to a hormonal imbalance. The product is easy to use and so far I’ve been happy with my results

So far so good, haven’t had long but see a difference.

  17. Tammi Montgomery

Not something I would use. Took to long to do on whole face. I returned but have not received credit on my card.

  18. Christine C. (verified owner)

I purchased this for my son for Christmas. He has noticed an improvement of his acne since he started using. I have used the panels for years . I can not say enough good things about them . This is a wonderful product for both acne and wrinkles. Highly recommend

  19. Emily M. (verified owner)

Love that it turns off after a 3 minute cycle. Great pouch for storage. Lightweight, easy to use, LED area is big enough to treat sizable areas at once.

  20. vivi_chan (verified owner)

I got this device as a Christmas present, was skeptical at first. But I recently developed a big cystic acne on my cheek due to mask wearing. I started to use this daily for 3 min. My face is so much better and clearer these days! This light treatment can reduce inflammation on acne overnight, the bumpiness is gone the next day! Highly recommend for those with acnes!

Absolutely love this product! It works very well and the packaging is good quality. For the price and quality, this was worth the purchase! It comes with a charger, travel bag, and protective eye wear. I chose this product over other LED devices specifically for the eye wear because it means the strength is high enough for the price.

I love my reVive light [Clinical Anti-Aging]! I’ve already saved so much money having one at home opposed to going and getting an LED light facial somewhere else. I’ve had it for a few weeks and my skin already feels rejuvenated.

I recently ordered a light for my daughter and she absolutely loves it!

How often did the participants in your clinical study use the device? Was it once or twice a day for 3 minutes per area? I've been using it once per day for the past couple of weeks but not seeing results yet. Laura asked on January 26, 2024

Our FDA-Clearance is based on a single 3-minute treatment per day, which I believe is what was used for our in-house study. For the best results, we recommend up to 3x per day, per area. For acne treatments using blue light therapy, you will see results fairly quickly. Sometimes after a single treatment. For severe acne breakouts, the number of treatments will increase due to the bacteria levels. Users will start seeing overall skin condition improve as well as diminished breakouts, redness, and irritation of the skin due to acne. It is recommended that you use the light therapy device regularly to keep acne causing bacteria at bay. Please note that the FDA-clearance is for mild to moderate acne and does not include severe or hormonal acne though customer's have reported positive results for those conditions.

What is the wavelength in nm and output power density in mW/cm2 for your blue LED output lights? At what distance is the power density measured? Do you have the measured optical spectrum of your LEDs available to share? Laura asked on January 20, 2024

The Clinical Acne uses a combination of Blue 415nm & Red 630nm LEDs to reduce acne flare ups, stabilize oil glands and purify skin. We do not share output power density in mw/cm2. All of our devices meet or exceed FDA requirements for irradiance output. The optical output is part of our IP (Intellectual Property) and we do not disclose this information as it is one of the key components that separates us from our competitors.

Does this blue light age your skin? Also second question. What’s the difference from this blue light and the blue light from electronics? Krys asked on November 29, 2023

No, the blue light LEDs used in our light therapy devices do not age the skin. The Blue lights used in our devices are medical grade LEDs.

What is the difference between this product and the sonic acne cleanser, are both similar in the amount of led treatment Mia asked on April 22, 2022

Thank you for reaching out! To answer your question – The Clinical Acne handheld is a light therapy device whereas the Sonique and Sonique Mini are sonic cleansers that have been combined with light therapy. The Sonique and Sonique Mini can be used as a gentle cleanser, to maximize absorption of serums or to provide targeted light therapy treatment. The sonic cleansers are waterproof. The Sonqiue features a rechargeable battery and the Sonique Mini is powered by AAA batteries. The Clinical Acne uses a power cord and is not designed to be used in/with water. The Clinical Acne has a larger treatment area (3" diameter) than the sonic cleansers. If you have any further questions, please contact our customer service team at support@ledtechnologies.com
