The optical output is part of our IP (Intellectual Property) and we do not disclose this information as it is one of the key components that separates us from our competitors. It is important to remember the key to a successful Light Therapy device is the overall optical energy performance of the device over the treatment time. The optical energy delivered by different LEDs is not equal, and in many instances we are able to deliver stronger, more efficacious performance with fewer LEDs than our competitor's devices due to selecting the proper LED performance, resulting in shorter treatment times. LED Technologies' products are designed to deliver the optimal optical energy to ensure the highest quality performance and safety in an at-home setting.
Both the Glo Acne and the Lux Collection Spot Acne use the same wavelengths of LED light: a combination of Blue 415nm & Red 630nm LEDs to reduce acne flare ups, stabilize oil glands and purify skin. The biggest difference between the Glo Acne and Spot Acne are the treatment area size and power source/supply. The Glo Acne will have a 1 inch diameter treatment area and the Lux Spot is slightly smaller at 3/4 inch diameter. The Glo Acne uses 3 AAA batteries while the Lux Spot Acne has a rechargeable battery (USB-C). Both devices have a 6-month warranty. Hi Abby! The casing for the Lux Spot Acne is plastic. It is solely rechargeable. The other main difference is the Lux Spot does not have an automatic timer but instead must be manually turned on/off by holding the bottom and twisting the top. You should find the durability of the Lux Spot to be superior to the old Poof model. The Lux Spot will be significantly smaller than the old Spot model and closer in size to a tube of lipstick or mascara. There is no auto shut off or timer on the Lux Spot. You must manually turn the device on and off.
