How Does LED Light Therapy Work?

LED therapy capitalizes on the different ways our bodies interact with light. The different wavelengths along the light spectrum cause our bodies to respond in different ways. Our products utilize light that falls into three categories — infrared light, red light, and blue light:

  • Infrared light: Long infrared wavelengths around 880 nm reach the deepest into the skin to energize cells and encourage blood flow. Our devices that use infrared light to help increase circulation, regenerate cells, and accelerate wound healing.
  • Red light: Red and deep red frequencies between 630 nm and 660 nm energize cells, causing them to reproduce stronger cells at a faster rate. We use red light for anti-aging remedies, to reduce acne related inflammation and to alleviate pain from medical conditions or sports injuries.
  • Blue light: Frequencies around 415 nm destroy bacteria from the inside out. Our blue-light products can alleviate acne and improve oral health.

How Do I Use LED Light Therapy?

Our light therapy products are easy to use and fast enough to fit into your daily routines. Use these products every day a maximum of three times a day for the best results. Each product has a different application, but many follow similar steps:

  1. Wash and dry the treatment area to remove sunscreen or makeup with light-blocking properties
  2. Power on the device
  3. Put on the protective goggles if treating areas around the eyes
  4. Hold the device directly on the skin you wish to treat for the duration the instructions specify
  5. Move to the next treatment area and repeat the steps above
  6. Power off the device after treatment — most shut off automatically
